Transit options narrowed down for Jackson County commuter corridors

Three public meetings are scheduled in late November and early December to share information and seek public feedback about which options are viable enough to move to the next stage of study. Transit agencies seek feedback on changes to bus service in 2012

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority also has released a draft plan that would alter service on more than 50 Metro bus routes starting next year. Students design concepts for Rock Island corridor

Rock Island corridor logoThe former Rock Island railroad corridor from Pleasant Hill to the Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City is protected for trail and transit use, and provides the primary connection for Kansas City to the Missouri KATY Trail State Park. At an open house in Raytown on Dec. 7, from 7:30–9 p.m., urban planning and landscape architecture students from Kansas State University and the University of Kansas will present concepts that imagine alternative futures for the corridor.
